Dr. Hurless is a board certified podiatric surgeon with a private practice providing care since 1999 in Thousand Oaks, CA. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Akron in Ohio, he earned a Masters Degree in Physiology at the University of Akron as well. Dr. Hurless then moved to San Francisco and received his doctorate with honors at the California College of Podiatric Medicine and later acquired his podiatry and surgical training at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Santa Clara, CA. This was an extensive 3 year surgical residency with the orthopedic department.

Dr. Hurless has led podiatric lectures all over the country on topics such as diabetic feet, children’s feet, wound care and advances in podiatric medicine. He chose this field of medicine because of the range of patients; he has the opportunity to treat infants through great-grandparents. As a husband and father of three, he prides himself on having a true family practice.

Dr. Michael LeCastre (La-Cast-Tree) is from Cleveland, Ohio and joined Advanced Foot and Ankle medical group in Thousand Oaks in 2020. He graduated from Kent State College of Podiatric Medicine in 2014 and finished his surgical training at the prestigious University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. During his time at University Hospitals he was awarded for his excellence and was elected Chief Resident. He is a member of the American College of Podiatric Medicine and is a published author in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Additional education includes a Master’s degree specializing anatomy and physiology from Drexel College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

As a patient you can expect to be greeted with a caring and professional attitude. He will work with you and other team members and medical doctors to create a coordinated plan in your treatment. He enjoys seeing a variety of patients in both the clinical and hospital settings. Areas of focus include treatment of sports injuries, ankle sprains, athlete’s foot, bunions, fungal nails, orthotics, plantar fasciitis, and diabetic foot wellness checks. He places great emphasis on the preventive aspects of medicine and believes in empowering his patients to achieve greater health. With every visit you can expect a warm bedside manner, compassion and his undivided attention.

Dr. LeCastre’s hobbies include almost every sport. He volunteers his time with the Special Olympics as a basketball referee and he played lacrosse, rugby, and football in high school. He moved to the area with his dog Shimmy and loves exploring southern California.

She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2017 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Psychology. Shortly thereafter, she received her Medical Assistant certificate at Conejo Valley Adult School. Her interest in the medical field has only continued to expand since she has started working for Advanced Foot and Ankle Medical Center. Alice has always loved helping patients heal and she wants to continue doing that, one foot at a time.

I attended Conejo Valley Adult School in 2011, where I graduated at the top of my class. I received My Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy certificate in 2012. I started working at Advanced Foot and Ankle Center in April 2012. I’m dedicated to helping patients on a one on one basis.

In 2010 Nicole received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention from the University of Southern California. She also earned her Medical Assistant Certificate from Simi Valley Adult School in 2012. She is Dr. Hurless’ medical assistant. She has had an interest in medicine from a very young age which has led her to explore a career in a medical office.
